Wayne County Chamber

Website Redesign

A redesign of Goldsboro’s Chamber of Commerce website. The client desired an updated site that felt more engaging and enticing to its audience. It integrated multiple features including: Chamber Master integration, blog for latest news, and optimization for mobile. In addition to features, they wanted a refreshed user-centered design that would bring in more local businesses to join WCC.

Project Process

Research & Strategy

I started with thorough research of the client market as well as provided inspiration that helped narrow down the focus of the site was. WCC wanted their site to focus on being user friendly for all ages and make good use of bright colors.

Wireframing & Branding

A critical part of the process, I start with forming the wireframes for the pages and how it will be translated from desktop to mobile. Along with creating a developing color palette that is improved in next steps.

Content Assembly

In this stage, multiple forms of content will be created for the site such as duotone photos in Photoshop, illustrated county map that features the new WCC “W” sublogo created specifically for the website, and creating a repeating pattern background.

We chose WordPress for the client’s CMS, as this is what they were most familiar with. In WordPress I was able to create 2 separate blogs for latest news and chamber member news. I also integrated Chamber Master, the software incorporates new member applications, business directory, and chamber events.
